About Training & Education

CURA Centre Acting Together is engaged in actively sharing knowledge with the public through numerous training and education efforts.

AT’s participants have impressive, diverse backgrounds in numerous fields, which represent a wide range of local organizations. Each person and organization possess unique skills, knowledge and insight into various aspects of youth violence prevention and youth resilience support.

This provides AT with the outstanding opportunity to provide valuable information, training and educational opportunities with the public, or segments of the public. Thus, training and education has been integrated into AT as one of three branches of the project (research, training and education, and knowledge dissemination) and as a project mandate.

What is AT-CURA?

Acting Together (AT) is a federally funded project aiming to identify factors that protect youth from gang involvement and to support community resilience-promoting initiatives. The project, led by Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, B.C., Canada has brought together 12 community partner organizations and nine academic researchers from four post-secondary institutions.

We want your help!

If you are a parent, teacher, teenager, high school or university student, service provider, policy maker, law enforcement agent or community activist, and are concerned with the issues of gang involvement and youth violence, you are invited to participate in the project’s various activities, including research.
