Participate
Participants in the Shaw media training project oversee the filming of a scene.
The Acting Together-CURA project is made up of three components: research, training and education, and knowledge dissemination.
Our work in each of these areas would not be possible without the efforts of community members such as yourself.
We encourage youth and adults interested in being a part of local gang and youth violence prevention efforts to contact us.
There are various capacities in which you may contribute to our project, so if you aren’t sure where you fit, let us know and we’ll help you find the right opportunity.
- We work with:
- Parents
- Teachers
- High-school students
- University students
- Service providers
- Policy-makers
- Law enforcement officers
- Community activists
- Researchers
- Leaders of community programs and organizations
- Program developers
- Volunteers
- Media professionals
- Other local adults who work with youth

** Participants wanted:
We are currently seeking community members interested in sharing their opinions in our Community Voices qualitative study. Volunteers will participate in confidential one-on-one interviews and/or focus groups that will shape knowledge about community beliefs and may influence future gang-prevention programs. They will be thanked for their efforts with a gift card.
