DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is a registered non-profit agency offering a wide range of services and programs to immigrant and refugee communities. The Society was established in 1978 and will soon mark 30 years of service to the community. The organization is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and its services are delivered through the main departments:
Family Services
The main goal of the clinical services department is to provide linguistically and culturally appropriate counselling and support services to immigrants and refugees. Our programs directly address the needs of immigrants and refugees in their adjustment to the changes, challenges and losses that accompany immigration and integration/settlement in a new country.
Language Training
Learn about Canadian culture and prepare for the citizenship test. Find out about the community on fun and educational field trips to the library, museums, supermarkets and parks. ELSA classses will help you learn to communicate in English and prepare you to participate in Canadian life.
Career Services
To provide immigrants facing cultural and language barriers with information, knowledge, skills, aptitude, competencies and resources in order for them to make a realistic career decision and successfully look for work so that they can participate fully in the Canadian work force.
Interpretation & Translation
Professional Translation and Interpretation Services were established at DIVERSEcity community resources society in 1993 and have been provided continuously ever since. As one of DIVERSEcity community resources society core programs, over 140 organizations, ranging from Federal and Provincial government departments, local municipal councils and health authorities, to community-based agencies have utilized the program for Interpretation and Translation services.
Fee For Services
The goal of the Community Development department is to assist immigrants and refugees to Canada in becoming self-sufficient and active participants of the local community.
